Dear Valued Customer
It has been close to two years since I joined DBS. During this period, I have had many opportunities to meet and hear from many of you. I would like to thank you for all your feedback which will help us to serve your better. I thought it would be useful for me to keep you updated on some of our initiatives, including any other exciting news, on a quarterly basis.
 Introducing the inaugural DBS Marina Regatta
As the largest bank in Singapore and South East Asia, we are proud to introduce the inaugural DBS Marina Regatta, Singapore's first and biggest international dragon boat competition since 2000. Close to 100 international and local teams will be competing in seven categories for a total cash prize of $178,000, the highest ever prize monies for an international dragon boat competition.
Do join us at the action-packed DBS Marina Regatta, which is taking place from 4-6 May at the Promontory @ Marina Bay, at the doorstep of DBS' new headquarters at the Marina Bay Financial Centre Tower 3. The DBS Marina Regatta promises to be Singapore's biggest water sports festival with a carnival that is open to the public on 5 and 6 May, 11.00 am – 6.00 pm. Making banking more accessible just for you
 A few months ago, we partnered SingPost to give you access to an additional 60 outlets for your banking needs. This means you can now bank conveniently at a total of 140 locations. In February, we opened our first POSB branch at a community club –Zhenghua Community Centre – marking another first in Singapore.
Do you know that with effect from 3 April, you can subscribe for IPO applications via your smart phones? This is the first such service in Singapore. Today, over 1.75 million and 470,000 DBS / POSB customers use our internet banking and mobile banking services, making us a clear leader in Singapore.
Coming up soon is our Great Singapore Sale promotions on the DBS Shopper mobile app where you can look forward to more privileges. I would like to take this opportunity to thank many of you who have given positive feedback on our mobile offerings such as DBS Indulge and DBS Shopper.
Enhancing banking security
Since the beginning of the year, we fast-tracked the roll-out of a range of measures to protect you in your ATM or debit card transactions. These measures include sending real-time SMS alerts for ATM, debit and credit card usage and the blocking overseas withdrawals to minimise the risks of unauthorised usage. You can also lower the risk of unauthorised withdrawals by changing your ATM PIN frequently.
