Firstly, on behalf of all of us here at DBS Singapore, I would like to extend our gratitude for the support you have given us in 2012. We have received much encouragement and feedback from many of you, and we will continue to strive to serve you even better. The future of banking is here

We celebrated the official opening of our new regional headquarters at Marina Bay Financial Centre (MBFC) at DBS Asia Central in October. With this historic move, we are set to take the future of banking to a new level.

By making banking more interactive and intuitive, our flagship branch at MBFC aims to bring you a new and improved customer experience. For instance, you are able to pre-complete electronic forms, conduct other transactions at self-service banking machines or browse DBS' offerings and Asian insights using iPads located on the premises while waiting to be served. Do come by and experience this first hand when you are around the Marina Bay area.

Putting mobile banking power in your hands

We take pride in delivering greater value and convenience to you via our comprehensive suite of mobile banking services. Our mobile applications like DBS Rewards, DBS Indulge and DBS Shopper have attracted over one million downloads since launch and we will continue to introduce innovative and yet user-friendly services that are relevant to your lifestyle preferences and needs.

We are the first bank in Singapore to launch a virtual credit card on Near Field Communication-enabled (NFC-enabled) smartphones, DBS One.Tap. Now you can make purchases and payments, and even enjoy rewards, on the go! Simply tap to use at over 30,000 merchants across Singapore, including major taxi operators, food and entertainment outlets.

Enhancing online banking security

To enhance online security, we have delivered the new DBS iBanking secure device to our internet banking customers. High-risk transactions, which include adding new payees for fund transfers and transferring large sums, will now require another level of authentication to be carried out. This provides you with an additional layer of security.

For your convenience, we have also made it easier for you to carry out low-risk transactions. You no longer need to key in a One-Time Pin (OTP) when checking your account balances and you can also choose to leave your secure device at home and opt for an SMS OTP while accessing online banking on the go.

With new technology in the ever evolving Asia, we make it our promise to you that we will continue to stay ahead of the game and make banking security a top priority.

Awards and accolades – thank you for your support!

Finally, it gives me great pride to announce that DBS was named "Bank of the Year, Asia" in 2012 by the industry's authoritative trade publication, The Banker, a subsidiary of The Financial Times, based in London. This is the first time that we have won this much coveted award and it will only spur us on to provide the best service to you.

DBS was also named the "Safest Bank in Asia" for the fourth year running in Global Finance's World's Safest Bank rankings. We are honoured and humbled by this award, which is a testament to our strength and stability.
